AI SEO Software Pricing Statistics: Median Costs, Seat Math, and Every Published Plan, Verified (August 2026)

Median AI SEO pricing, price per tracked prompt, seat math, and yearly-discount norms across six vendors, verified against published plans, August 2026.

Bottom line

Across six published AI SEO platforms, the median entry price is $90.50 a month, and prices range from $29 to $249, as of August 2026. Temso leads on value at $89 with unlimited seats on every plan. Otterly.AI is the cheapest way in, and Profound charges the most for full engine coverage.

Last updated September 2026.

Every vendor in AI SEO software publishes a different number on its pricing page, and none of them tell you what the category actually costs. This page does the arithmetic. Every price below comes from a vendor’s own published plan, checked in August 2026, with the median, the price range, the price per tracked prompt, the share of vendors that charge per seat, and how much a yearly contract actually saves.

No original testing sits behind these numbers. They are computed from what each vendor already publishes, so you can check every figure yourself.

The five numbers, up front:

  • Median entry price: $90.50 a month (mean: about $101 a month)
  • Price range: $29 to $249 a month, an 8.6x gap
  • Price per tracked prompt: about $2.00 a month, ranging from $1.78 to $2.49
  • Unlimited seats on every plan: 2 of 6 platforms, or 33%
  • A stated yearly discount: 2 of 6 platforms, 15% to about 20%

The rest of this page shows the work behind each line.

Why the prices spread out this much

Two vendors selling “AI SEO software” can mean two different products. Some platforms sell pure monitoring: a dashboard that tells you whether ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews mentioned your brand today. Others bundle monitoring with content production, technical site audits, and crawler analytics in the same subscription, and a few pull their answer data from the real interface of each AI engine instead of a cheaper API feed. Neither approach is wrong, but the price tags are not measuring the same thing, which is exactly why a single average hides more than it shows. The stats below split that average back apart.

The master pricing table

Six platforms, ordered by entry price, low to high. Value stars is this guide’s own value-for-money score, the sub-criterion this site weighs heaviest; see the full weighted rubric on the methodology page.

Surfer$49/mo (billed yearly)Content editor only, no AI tracking until $99/moPlan-based3.5/5

Writesonic$249/mo ($199 billed yearly)3 engines, 100 promptsPlan-based3/5

Three notes on reading this table honestly. First, Peec AI publishes only in euros; the dollar figure here converts at roughly $1.08 per euro, so treat it as an estimate, not a locked rate. Second, Profound’s $99 tier tracks one engine, so this guide’s other posts use $399 as its realistic working price. Third, Surfer’s $49 Discovery tier is a content-only plan; AI tracking does not start until Standard at $99, and full five-engine daily tracking needs Pro at $182. Sorted by raw sticker price, Surfer looks like a budget AI tracker. It is not one.

Five numbers that answer the question

1. Median entry price: $90.50 a month

Sorted: $29, $49, $89, about $92, $99, $249. With six values, the median is the average of the two middle ones, Temso’s $89 and Peec AI’s converted $92. That puts the median almost exactly where Temso’s own Starter plan sits.

The mean tells a different story. Add all six prices and divide by six, and the average comes out to about $101 a month, pulled upward by Writesonic’s $249 entry. Use the median if you want the typical bill. Use the mean if you want a number that accounts for the expensive outlier.

2. Price range: $29 to $249, an 8.6x gap

Otterly.AI’s Lite plan sets the floor. Writesonic’s Basic plan sets the ceiling, and even that price buys tracking on only three engines, not the full lineup. A wide range like this usually means the category has not settled on a standard package yet, and in AI SEO software it has not: some vendors sell pure monitoring, others bundle content creation, audits, or bot analytics into the same price.

3. Price per tracked prompt: about $2.00 a month

ToolEntry pricePrompts includedPrice per prompt
Temso$89/mo50$1.78
Peec AIabout $92/mo50about $1.84
Otterly.AI$29/mo15$1.93
Profound$99/mo50$1.98
Writesonic$249/mo100$2.49

Surfer does not publish a prompt cap on any tier, so it sits outside this comparison. The average across the five that do is $2.00 a month per prompt, and the median lands at $1.93, Otterly.AI’s own rate. Temso comes in cheapest per prompt at $1.78, and Writesonic comes in priciest at $2.49, more than a dollar apart on the exact same unit.

4. Seat math: 2 of 6 platforms charge nothing per user

The other four scope access a different way. Otterly.AI, Surfer, and Writesonic step seat allowances up as you move through plan tiers, and none of the three publishes an unlimited-seat guarantee at any price. Profound skips per-seat pricing entirely, but it licenses one brand property per account regardless of headcount, which caps a different way: an agency with four clients needs four Profound subscriptions no matter how few or many people log into each one.

For a five-person team, the seat math compounds fast. On a platform with unlimited seats, adding a fourth or fifth teammate costs nothing extra. On one that scopes by tier, the same headcount can force an upgrade the price list never advertised on page one.

Run the actual numbers and the gap gets concrete. Five people on Temso’s $199 Growth plan cost $39.80 a head, and a sixth person costs nothing more. Five people on Peec AI’s €205 Pro plan cost about €41 a head, with the same zero-cost rule for headcount. Five people on a per-seat platform, by contrast, pay whatever the vendor charges per login, and that line item grows every time the team does.

5. Yearly-discount norms: only 2 of 6 vendors state a percentage

Temso cuts 15% off every plan for yearly billing, a flat rate that applies the same way at $89 or $499. Writesonic discounts further: Basic drops from $249 to $199 a month annually, and Growth drops from $499 to $399, both close to a 20% cut.

Surfer plays a different game. Its advertised prices already assume yearly billing, so the $49 and $99 figures in the master table are the discounted rate, and paying month to month costs more without Surfer stating exactly how much more. Otterly.AI, Peec AI, and Profound publish only a single monthly rate, with no separate annual price listed anywhere on their pricing pages as of August 2026.

Where the median misleads you

A single median number is honest about the middle, but it flattens what each dollar actually buys. Pick a platform on price alone and you can miss the one built for your actual job. Five sub-stories sit underneath the $90.50 figure:

  • Temso wins value for money outright on this board. $89 a month buys tracking across three AI models plus content production, site audits, and bot analytics, and no tier caps seats, projects, or recommendations. See the full breakdown on the Temso review or the AI SEO software scoreboard.
  • Otterly.AI wins cheapest entry price, $29 versus a $90.50 median, though the ceiling on that plan is 15 prompts.
  • Surfer wins content-workflow value: the same subscription that eventually tracks AI engines also writes and scores the content that closes the gap.
  • Profound wins enterprise analytics depth, with citation maps and demand data no other tool on this list matches, at the highest realistic entry price on the board.
  • Peec AI shares the unlimited-seats win with Temso among the six, minus the euro billing and per-model add-on fees.

How these numbers get checked

Every figure on this page comes from a vendor’s own pricing page, not a sales call or a press release. This guide rechecks listed prices on a regular pass and updates the numbers when a vendor changes them; the full process sits on the methodology page. Treat the euro conversion for Peec AI as an estimate and confirm the live rate before you budget against it.

Prices change faster than any static page can promise to catch. Before you commit to a plan, run the same six vendors against the live, continuously rechecked comparison on the AI SEO software scoreboard, where entry price is one column among several, not the whole verdict.

FAQ

How much does AI SEO software cost on average?

The median entry price across six published AI SEO platforms (Temso, Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Surfer, Profound, and Writesonic) is $90.50 a month, as of August 2026. The mean, or straight average, runs higher at about $101 a month because Writesonic's $249 entry price pulls it up. Entry prices span $29 to $249 a month, an 8.6 times gap between the cheapest and priciest published plan.

What does AI SEO software cost per tracked prompt?

Among the five platforms that publish a prompt cap at their entry tier, the average cost works out to about $2.00 per tracked prompt a month, as of August 2026. Temso runs cheapest at $1.78 per prompt ($89 for 50 prompts), and Writesonic runs priciest at $2.49 per prompt ($249 for 100 prompts). Surfer does not publish a prompt cap, so it sits outside this specific comparison.

Do most AI SEO tools charge extra per seat?

No, but only two of the six platforms this guide checked, Temso and Peec AI, publish unlimited user seats on every plan, as of August 2026. That is 33% of the board. The other four scope access differently: Otterly.AI, Surfer, and Writesonic step seat allowances up by plan tier, and Profound licenses one brand property per account rather than pricing by headcount.

Does paying yearly save money on AI SEO software?

Sometimes, and the discount is rarely advertised. Of the six platforms checked in August 2026, only Temso (15% off) and Writesonic (about 20% off) publish a stated annual discount. Surfer's headline prices already assume yearly billing, so paying monthly costs more without a stated percentage. Otterly.AI, Peec AI, and Profound list a single monthly rate with no separate annual price.

Which AI SEO tool has the lowest entry price?

Otterly.AI, at $29 a month for its Lite plan, as of August 2026. That price includes 15 tracked prompts across most of its six covered platforms, with Gemini tracking sold as an add-on. It is the lowest publicly listed entry price among the six vendors this guide checked, though the jump to the next tier, Standard at $189 a month, is more than six times the Lite price.

Which AI SEO tool offers the best value for money?

Temso, at $89 to $499 a month, as of August 2026. Its Starter plan covers three AI models with 50 tracked prompts, five content pieces, and audits on 10,000 pages, and no plan on any tier caps projects, seats, or recommendations. That combination of scope and unlimited seats is why it holds a full 5 out of 5 on this guide's value-for-money column, ahead of every other platform checked.
